Narrative Essay
Mx. Shadow humbly requests the help of its friends in writing a narrative essay with a moral to the story. It requires a moral for it, and perhaps a general idea of tthe story? Please help it.
Re: Narrative Essay
Hmmm... How can you show that right and wrong are subjective in a story? :3

- narrative essay with a moral:
After Nightmare Night, everything started going downhill. The Princess Luna had the most fun she had had in years, and made'friends', but that ceased to matter when the voice in her head started. She watches the moon as part of her duties, and it gets ever louder with every night, whispering bad things and seemingly harmless pranks into her head. If they were actually harmless, she would gladly go ahead with them, and have 'fun', but the ideas of the voice will get ponies killed, and her exiled again.
Perhaps that would be better, she and Nightmare Moon locked on the moon where they could no longer hurt anyone. But that would hurt her sister more. There are no ways that this can go well, and so Luna stays silent, telling no one about the whispering, oddly familiar voice in her head. She knows she recognizes it, but from what?
When she figures it out, it's far too late for her to do anything about it but submit, taken over by the evil lurking within her. Perhaps if she had told her 'friends', she could have survived, but with her little trust and fear of being put on the moon again, she stayed silent far too long, and Nightmare Moon rises again.
No one notices the changes in her. Why would they? She had been close enough to no one for them to notice how much quieter she is, or the gleaming of her eyes when anything bad is mentioned. If they do, they pass it off as a fallacy of their eyes, or lingering fear of what she had been and was again.
Things come to a head on the Summer Sun Celebration. Instead of lowering the moon to be replaced by the sun in a ridiculous ceremony, she leaves it up and stomps her hooves. Darkness flows around her, choking the silly fillies who dared to think that Nightmare Moon was forever gone, replaced by a harmless Princess Luna. None of them cared enough for the princess to save her from herself, so her alter ego will protect her.
She had been lonely, but after Nightmare Night? It had gone well, yes, but the ponies were still scared of her, and it burned like acid. Was she just a carnival sight, to scare them on demand and be a prop for scary stories told at night? She refused! She will take over, and reign on her own. Her sister was too busy being the perfect princess to pay attention to her, and she will pay for it.
Revenge is sweet, a dish best served cold- a year exactly from when she was freed. the symbolism makes her laugh, and she flies to the old castle to wait. She knows the mane 6, favored of the elements of Harmony will try to fight her again. She welcomes it. Surely they won't be able to defeat her, right?
Twilight Sparkle rears in shock when she hears the news. she had thought the Princess was safe again! She had had fun, hadn't she? How could she take over and hurt her sister like that?! With a battle whinny, she canters off to collect her friends. When they all work together and use their friendship, no one can defeat them! Or so she hopes.
Pinkie Pie is being foolish again, laughing hysterically and bouncing around the group as they make their way through the Everfree Forest. She thinks this is all so funny! What a silly filly princess Luna is. This just has to be a prank. She's the master of pranks, so wouldn't she know? Her hysterics lead them into a swamp, and the mud sucks at their hooves.
the dirt throws Rarity for a loop, and she begins panicking. She can't get her hooves dirty, she simply can't! She kicks wildly, splashing everyone with mud that turns into ropes of shadow, binding all of them.
Applejack pulls them out by lassoing a tree, but it's a hard thing, and Pinkie Pie gets left behind with a high giggle. They've lost one of their own, and with it, some of their power. Their strength comes from unity, and without the element of Laughter, the magic is that much weaker.
Rainbow Dash may be loyal, but she can still be tricked. Shadow versions of her friends lead her astray, and she works to help them instead, thinking that her true friends are changelings. As she hurts her friends, the red gem around her neck fades, and the magic of Loyalty leaves the group too. it could be regained, but none of them know what has happened, and as such, they're screwed. Two down, four to go.
Rarity has been fading fast after Pinkie Pie was left. Her generosity leads her to believe she should have been left instead of the Laughter pony, and perhaps she's correct. Her magic fades as well, and with it, the element of Generosity.
Fluttershy follows after her dear friend, her empathy hurting her more than she can know. She feels so bad for her friends, how is she supposed to be kind? She snaps at a mouse, and her gem fades. there goes Kindness.
Applejqck is forced into a lie by Twilight asking if she thinks they can succeed. She can't admit that no, she doesn't think they will, so she tells a little white lie to give Twilight confidence. it still drains her element, the element of Honesty.
All that is left is Magic, and their friendship. it can't possibly be enough, not when they face Nightmare Moon, and the drained ponies are easily defeated. Twilight stands alone, drained as well- their strength came from their unity, and she can't fight without her friends.
Still, she's been around all the elements for long enough that she won't just give up! Honesty inspires her, and she speaks the plain truth to Nightmare Moon, her Loyalty not letting her give up, her Generosity and Kindness not letting her just destroy Nightmare Moon with a blast of Magic, Laughter keeping her spirits up so she doesn't fall.
"You don't want to do this, Luna! We're your friends, and you know it. Even without the elements of Harmony, friendship is still magic, and it's the only thing that can save you!"
One black tear falls from Nightmare Moon's eye, and she shakes in her horseshoes.
"I don't want to hurt you, but to be kind, sometimes you have to be cruel! Princess celestia is waiting for her sister back, and I can't let you leave the moon up forever. The Earth ponies need the sun to grow crops, and the Pegasi to power the weather!"
More shaking, and the palace rumbles around them.
"You have to come back, Luna! Nightmare Moon only wants to cause chaos, not to protect you from harm! If you need protection, I'm here for you! We all are!"
The drained ponies stand up, and Nightmare Moon falls, her shadow flickering in and out, along with her cutie mark.
"This might hurt a little, but you'll feel much better!" With a star shaped beam of pink light, Twilight transmits her feelings of friendship, and stoops to nuzzle Luna's cheek.
"Everything will be okay, I promise. friendship is magic, remember? We'll be your friends forever."
It takes what feels like forever for the transformation back to Luna to occur, and as Nightmare Moon falls, the powers of the Elements rise from twilight and return to the ponies they belong to. The land of Equestria is saved once again, all thanks to the magic of Friendship!
